Feb 22nd • The Wild Hunt

Crimson Moon Rage • Gates of Camelot

[ Everything was happening so fast. With a sense of unease despite what seemed to be the "worst" of his luck behind him this month, at least there was solace in their timing. The young couple, sharing the day together in the heart of the city, were not outside the walls when screams of a Wild Hunt reach their ears. On the regular, Cloud would carry his greatsword with him. At this stage, despite the fact he'd never tried to be a knight in this world, he at least fit the 'merc' role as far as holding his weaponry was concerned. Besides, one never knew when trouble would start. Despite the wane in their original skillsets? He never wanted to be caught without a weapon to defend both himself? And those he cares about from certain silver haired assholes. That unease is tempered, thankfully, by his years of experience as Cloud takes everything in about the upcoming siege.

Wraiths... Ghoulish soldiers that have come to lay waste and wreck havoc across the land. The time for learning who brought them to their door would come later. Right now? They needed to prepare to fight. He never wanted to, but all this time spent training in this world and adapting to a new style had to amount to something. Kinetic Magic. Elemental spells. Swordsmanship. It all culminates as the next grand test is upon them all. It was Cloud's turn to find out whether he could still protect what he cherished. ]

Haa...haa... Ggh— [ Gritting his teeth, frustration setting in as his weapons and magic have no lasting effects upon these wraiths as he defends the gate, he plants his feet in vain as he's sent toppling over himself, a wraith riding wildly charging black horse bowls him over. He narrowly avoids being trampled as he rolls beneath its hooves and the wraith continues on as if the blond hardly mattered. Dirtied, bloodied by scratches but nothing fatal or concerning, it was more his confusion that continues to hold him back.

He's felled 'undead' enemies before. Yet his weapons have no effect on them. And if Cloud was having trouble fending off these seemingly unwinnable foes? What was everyone else dealing with? Merlin's magic from the castle and Arthur's awe-inspiring tactics and strength were enough to keep them in the game, but all that anyone can do is hold them off. None of their enemies fell. How could they? They were already dead- at least, it was all Cloud could surmise as he struggles back to his feet.

Just in time to be faced down by another imposing figure. Demented in appearance, it's all Cloud can do to grit his teeth and reaffirm his stance as one of the Knights of the Veil advances on him. ]

C'mon, asshole... I'm right here.

[ Rubion, a rage-filled Knight of the Void, clearly didn't take too kindly to this defiance. With a haunting growl, his blade drawn and menacing stature poised to fell the whelp of a man that stands before him, Rubion knows what his end goal is as he prepares to strike Cloud down. Cloud, meanwhile, channels lightning through his own sword. ]

Rraagh—!!

[ Their weapons clash. And though Cloud's power isn't in the same league as Rubion's, thunder rolls as his magically-infused sword blocks the fiend's attack. Unbeknownst to the blond, however, is that death wasn't what this once-serial killer had in mind of this fleeting exchange. Oh no. When the time was right, he had a far more interesting 'gift' in mind for the struggling swordsman. ]
